Showcase!

So on Thursday it is the all important Showcase time! Where we showcase our work to our family friends and anyone who wants to see it really! We chose this picture to be put onto the showcase poster:

As there is a large audience, our group are going to set up a table with our camera on it allowing us to get audience feedback which we can then use for our evaluation !! 

I'm very exited about it as it is the first time we get to explain our video and the process and thoughts behind it as well as show it on a big screen! 

I am currently writing the speech which one of the group members will say (it might be me as Alicia and Leanne doesn't want to speak) and as soon as I ma finished I will post it.

The Song Name!

We finally have a song name and it is Can't Hide, and our band name is Genetics. So now I can't post my finished Digipak finally including Magazine Advert!

Our music video is finally finished and I love the result ! Hannah was absolutely amazing acting (alliteration there)! and the whole group did so well to film, direct and edit. We are all so happy with the result and here it is :

There are the same video however one is only able to watch on the laptop and the other is all platforms.

Digipak change!

So I have changed one of the pictures and I have all my picture set up now I think:

This will be split in half

This will be one of the Tray's for the digipak, the tip of Hannah's nose is where the circle will be for the disk.

This is the new picture I added which will be the second tray,  I added it to be like the lips of Hannah as she is wearing the red lipstick in the video which is a stand out feature so I wanted a symbol throughout to be lips. It will either be this one to add colour to the album or the black and white one below with one red.

At moment I prefer the colourful one but I will do two digipak's to compare and decide which one I like best!

Digipak advert!

Looking at both digipaks and their adverts I noticed that some have linking adverts which have the same album cover as the advert likeYou Me At Six:

and Leona lewis' :



or the wombats:

 


This allows recognition of the artist as it links them exactly and allows for easier notability when looking for it.



However some don't and just have similar shots to ones in the digipak and music video Or they have a similar theme like Rihanna's:







or The vaccines:





or Plan B:




or Britney Spears:















What I have noticed is that fonts seem to be the same, as symbol of recognition, a theme is current throughout and a lot of them have a little picture in the corner of the album so that people can recognise it ! I think its a really good idea and I'm going to do the second choice and  take inspiration from one of the pictures on the inside of my digipak!

Evaluation questions!

So the evaluation is fast approaching and therefore I need to start preparing for it however I have the questions that need to be answered and as soon as I have finished the rest of the coursework I shall start on answering the questions listed below:


In the evaluation the following four questions must be addressed:

Vlog!

This is a vlog from three weeks ago that Alicia and I done!

And this is the vlog that I did just regarding and update on the progress and what is going on within our 

group!

Digipak start!

Okay so I have officially started my digipak and not going to lie, I like it ! Its not the most fancy or creative or anything but seeing as the second I finally got Photoshop for a bit, my free trial ran out !! 

I am actually happy with myself as seeing as I only used like 3 tools on Photoshop as I didn't know how to use any others I am quite happy with the result of this little edit, which will be split in the middle to make the two inside pages.

Just in case your forgot this is the template the 6 panel digipak with 2 cd trays.

Now this was the original two pictures I attempted to merge together at first, God knows it too me YEARS to even get them on the same canvas together and without the help of Mr. Google I'd still be fiddling now... If the free trial didn't end! 

This is the edit of the picture I did only using the move tool, the select tool, the little colour picker tool thing and the brush tool! I think I did quite well to be honest!

This is my Album cover, I added a black background to the picture of the Teddy Bear using Paint as AGAIN... as my Photoshop free trial ran out! The use of the Teddy Bear is because our back story to Hannah's (The protagonist in the music video) Insanity is due to her being abused as a child and this is also seen in the music video when she writes 'Mumma and Leave me alone' on the wall in the white mental hospital room. I added blush to signify its a girl and representing Hannah and I like how the Bow is Red as it is similar to her lipstick in the music video. I added the parental Advisory sign as there may be swearing in the other songs on the list. I chose the the sort of opaque writing and the thing font as it gives the effect of it glowing slightly and to keep it looking sleek and professional I kept both the band name 'Genetics' and the album name 'Electric lights'

This is the incomplete back of the album cover because we don't have a song name for our music video therefore I can't add it onto the back however this is it so far. I added the barcode and the record label 'Dark horse records' I also added the lip stick kiss to make it seem like Hannah has kissed it herself! I added the faded tear-drop shaped grey thing because it symbolises her sadness and depression however I think I am going to remove it for the final thing as I think it looks like it could be overcrowded.

This is one of inner pictures I really like this picture and I thought it would be brilliant in my digipak. I added only colour to the inside of the lens to make it seem more powerful.  I decreased the saturation around the lens to tie in with our music video and make the digipak fell more depressed.

This is one of the spines which just features the bands name

And this is the Main spine that features the band's name as well as the album cover name and the logo of a red kiss features also on the back of the album cover.

This is also a picture i created using three different images one with a dark shadow one without and one of her laughing, It took me a long time to edit this as I was a complete beginner when I started it but once I knew how to fix the opacity and layer the pictures it was easy, I took the colour from it and made I black and white to tie in with the rest of the digipak and I really like the contrast of facial expression in this picture.

Now I just have the CD Tray's and CD'S themselves to edit and then I piece them together on my template and print them out to have a solid version as well as a digital one, also I will do a vlog regarding my digipak as soon as I finish. Final thing I only need to do is the Magazine advertisement as well and I will do a vlog on that as well with the printed copy!


But in total I used, Photoshop, PicMonkey and paint and I will also use word to piece it together!

Digipak start!

Okay well it is vital i get a start on my digipak, as we are almost coming to the end of our editing, I have print screened some shots that I have found in the video that i really like and could be a potential for my music video!

Also we have chosen a name for now which is .... GENETICS!

However we still have not got a song name which we need extremely quickly!

I may layer the faces where she is laughing or use only one picture, but these are the sorts of pictures that i was thinking so I will update you when I start!
