Survey!
Surveymokey.com

Well Hannah created a survey for our group on SurveyMonkey.com allowing us to have some written feedback with the as well as allowing for a wider audience and viewing platform for people who were not able to make the showcase as the survey was posted on the social networking site 'Facebook'.

Here are the results:

Well Hannah created a survey for our group on SurveyMonkey.com allowing us to have some written feedback with the as well as allowing for a wider audience and viewing platform for people who were not able to make the showcase as the survey was posted on the social networking site 'Facebook'.

Here are the results:
As you can see many people thought the lip syncing could be improved however the results were all over 5 which is very positive with more 9's and 10's than 7 and 8's.
Nearly everyone agreed Hannah's acting was excellent
Everyone thought the song suited the music video well.
A lot of people like the flashing lights and the effects in the video.
Everyone thought that it was a good narrative with people commenting that it was scary and dark.
People generally liked the editing however someone thought there should have been more going on when the beat dropped, however we did not want to over do an already heavily edited music video.
A lo of people are commenting on the lip syncing being improved, probably with the word "Something"
Some people wanted more calming shots to contrast more and others thought there was nothing to improve on, how very kind!
I can now use this in my evaluation for question 3.

Twitter!
So us being us Again we decided to message rudimental but this time through twitter, to see what would happen this time. Hopefully we get a reply, but we are very skeptical.
After an embarrassment, Tweeting the wrong person, I deleted it and then re-wrote it to the write rudimental this time !!! But now it has been fixed and it has sent to the right people, hopefully they reply but it is highly unlikely .

| So now I see there is a Uk at the end changing the whole person its tweeted to !! I must of accidentally deleted it when trying to write the tweet !! How Embarrassing !!! |

Old Idea !
So I looked on Rudimental's website and I saw they have a new video!!!
And guess what ...
Its VERY similar to what our original boxing idea was going to be!
I was shocked as I was thinking this is what we were going to do ! It so coincidental ! So I decided I may as well post it as this was so similar to what our original idea was going to be !
Audience Feedback!
This a full video of our audience feedback from on the day of our showcase along with the speech and the reedited speech which i had to wing slightly on the day as it was a tad too long!
The audience feedback was all positive with the word Disturbing popping up a bit regularly for my likings but mostly people loved it !
Us being us we decided to take peoples advice and send a link of our music video to Rudimental's management to see what they would say (expecting concert tickets or something.... bit to optimistic me thinks)

So this is the 45 mark Essay Hannah sent on behalf of the group to Rudimental's management hoping to get a detailed response and or concert tickets instead we got this...

| Thanks for the motivation there! |
Well at least they responded back with kind comments and we are grateful for that but they didn't give us much to go on for Audience Feedback although I will mention it in my evaluation.

Evaluation questions Preparation
Well I have officially started on my evaluation.
Rihanna- What now: The use of Black and White, Isolation, Body movement and performance, editing with the beat of the music
Nero- Crush on You: Red accents, washed out filter/Colouring, Field scene girls all in white, Contrast between psychotic and non psychotic.
AlunaGeorge- Best Be Believing: White room, A lot of eye contact, same theme
- Develop
Rihanna- What now: Developed use of dull colours, body movements and camera angles and the flashing lights.
Nero- Crush on You: Developed colours, Theme
AlunaGeorge- Best Be Believing: we incorporated less lip syncing and more performance .
- Challenge
Used a more circular narrative rather than a linear narrative which was more of a montage, editing shots to very quick beats hasn't really been done to our extent that we could find, Did not sexualise our female character in any way.
Used identifiable shots seen and relating to the music video, doesn't use the artist on the main cover
-Develop
Encompasses a theme throughout relating to both the music video and the magazine advert: like Rihanna and Katy perry.
-Challenge
Instead of the conventional 4 panel, I choose and 8 Panel Digipak to express the music,
Has the band name, a review, the album name, the record label etc.
-Develop
The emphasis on band identity and how the music video, Magazine advert and Digipak all come together as one, develops from subtle band identification.
-Challenge
Most album covers use the same image on the front of their album for their magazine advert however I chose to make them different but used an image from the inside of my digipak to still allow the audience to relate to both of them as a band package, as there is a small picture of the front cover in the bottom right hand side of the Magazine advert like with Plan B or Britany spears.
-Apple Macs: By Apple was used for research, blogging, vloging, and constuction it was vital in the use of creating and editing our final video. (Dell Laptop was also used)
-Blogger: Was used A LOT to document our research and update on the constrution of our music video.
-iTunes: Again by the company Apple was used to play our song which we used for the music video as well as to research songs we wanted to initially use.
-Google: Google was extremely beneficial for our research as it allowed us to look anywhere on the internet for ideas, locations, costumes and digipaks and magazine adverts to help to create and construct our products.
-Youtube: Youtube was also extremely vital for Research as it provided us with many ideas and videos to watch to inspire us for instane the rihanna what now video, as well as played a big role in uploading our video that it was able to be watched by a wide audience, allowing us to embed it onto our blog and people could access it for audience feedback.
All of this technology allowed me to use cross media convergence throughout the year, to create, plan and research for my own music video. All products was of high importance to construing my final products and it allowed me to be more creative through my entire process
I am going to use:
- Prezi
- A video diary
- PowerPoint
- Animation or Emaze (Maybe)
- Quicktime
I am going to include :
- Infographs
- YouTube Videos
- Voiceovers
- Pictures
- Graphs
- Tables
- Pie charts
- Text
I have already begun writing up my Evaluations it's just starting them now.
Below are the ways im going to be answering the questions, to make it easier for me to create my answers:
1. In what ways does your media product use, develop, or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
Music video
- UseRihanna- What now: The use of Black and White, Isolation, Body movement and performance, editing with the beat of the music
Nero- Crush on You: Red accents, washed out filter/Colouring, Field scene girls all in white, Contrast between psychotic and non psychotic.
AlunaGeorge- Best Be Believing: White room, A lot of eye contact, same theme

2. How effective is the combination for your main product and ancillary tasks? (Prezi with voice over and vlog in it)
There is a strong combination which would make it easy for the audience to identify with the brand:
-Constant use of red lips in all three products
-Contrast between Black, White and a hint of colour found in all three products
-Font is the same for the digipak as well as the Magazine advert
-The overlapping images are seen in both the music video and the digipak
-The use of the psychologists head in the digipak and Her psychotic behaviour in the Music video all tie together
-The use of the hint of red, Lips (Music video), Teddy bears bow (Digipak cover), Lips (Magazine advert)
-The cover of the digipak in the corner of the magazine advert
-The use of dull colours, little vibrancy, lack of colour; Digipak and Music video
These all combined create a distinguishable brand for the band as well as make them easily recognisable, making it very effective
3.What have you learnt from your audience feedback? (iMovie video)
Questions:
What do you think of the narrative?
On a scale from 1 to 10, 10 being excellent how well do you think the lip syncing went?
What did you like best about the video?
What do you think could of been improved?
On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being excellent how well do you think the acting went?
Any comments on editing techniques?
-Not many negative comments
-overall enjoyed the professional look to it
-liked the layering shots
-words disturbing, scary, creepy came up a lot of times, also said it suite the lyrics very well and was very current
-Wanted better lip syncing
-Wanted more calming shots and close up shots
4.How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages? (Video diary, Powerpoint, Emaze and Quicktime)
-Used both software and hardware
Construction and research
Wide range for constructing and planning:
-Iphones: To take pictures of our filming and behind the scenes on location as well as to contact one another on days when we would film, Also our phones were used for the strobe lights in the music video all 4 different phones were used to create the effective seen in the music video. Also used for playing the song in the background while filming
-Imovie: We only used iMovie to construct our music video and therefore it was vital we used it, our uploaded footage was then edited once on iMovie to create our final music video.
-Panasonic HD SC-90 Camcorder: Used to film all of our footage although not amazing quality it still provided us with clean and clear enough shots for our music video, this was done by using an SD cared which stored all the footage one which was then converted to iMovie through the Apple Macs made by company Apple
-The Flip Cam: The flip cam was used to film the behind the scenes footage.
Planning
In order to plan efficiently I had to sign up to many Web 2.0 websites such as, Blogger, Slideshare and Prezi.
Iphone: The iphone was played a very important role in planning as it was the only way that our group could communicate to on another in a group chat in order to devise when and where would be filming, hlping us plan more quickly and effectivley.
Prezi- Prezi allowed me to create my own presentations very quickly and easily, allowing clear and useful information needed fore research and planning for instance a mood board of what we want in our music video and what we were hoping for.
Slideshare& Powerpoint- Slideshare and power point allowed me to Create presentation that could be put onto my blog, expressing a different way of planning.
Blogger: Was used the most for planning as it provided me with a simple and linear way to post and express plans, ideas research and information in a quick and simple way throughout the year.
Ancillary Task and Evaluation
-PicMonkey/Photoshop/Paint/Word: To create my digipak and my album cover I had to use a combination of Picmonkey an online website in which you can edit images, Photoshop A LOT more advanced and more difficult allowing me to tough up images and blend images professionally, and Paint, I used Microsoft paint to edit finer details onto my Digipak which were to hard to do on Photoshop and could not be done on PicMonkey, Paint was very useful as it was so easy and effortless. I also used word to construct all 8 panels of my digipak in order for them to be in line and the same size for my ancillary task.
Youtube/ Blogger: As Photoshop was very hard to work I had to use YouTube to fin videos on how to use Photoshop, Also I posted my audience feedback on YouTube as well as some of my evaluation questions being posted on YouTube so that it could be posted onto my Blogger.
-Surveymonkey.com/: We created a survey on survey monkey along with the video filmed on my Samsung camera of audience feedback.
-Facebook:We posted our video and survey on Facebook and this allowed us to get a written response as well as a visual response from different people who may not have been on the showcase. Helping us with our evaluation questions.
-Twitter: We tweeted Rudimentals home page with our music video hoping to get a response, however unfortunately we did''t but we did however get some favourites and re tweets which can contribute to our evaluation questions.
-E-mail: We also e-mail rudimental's management asking them to view the video and we got a response from the saying, Great work and good luck.
-Quicktime: I used quicktime for my final evaluation questions allowing me to film the screen whenever I needed.
Emaze: I saw someone else mention Emaze and thought to check it out, it was Extremely good and thought to use it for one evaluation wuestion to make it more interesting than only Prezi's
Imovie: I used iMovie to create one of the evaluation question as it is quick and easy to do.
Prezi: I used prezi for two of my evaluation questions as it it was very easy and simple to use.
All of this technology allowed me to use cross media convergence throughout the year, to create, plan and research for my own music video. All products was of high importance to construing my final products and it allowed me to be more creative through my entire process
